Selene Luxury Rooms
Selene is located in the town of Armenistis on the Northern Shore of Ikaria. Selene signs will point the way, but since there are no street names or numbers on Ikaria, here are a few handy landmarks to guide the way. Travel into town and over the small bridge. When you see the church steeple, take the immediate downward road on your right-hand side (across from the Blue Jean Souvlaki joint!). It’s a quick turn and steep, but it leads you directly into the church yard. A sign at the end of the clearing will lead you to our Reception.
By Plane
Ikaria is a quick 50-minute direct flight from the Athens International Airport. During the summer months, there are also flights from Thessaloniki, Heraklion and Lemnos. An important note for guests: due to the mountainous topography of the island, travel from the airport to Selene Boutique Rooms and the town of Armenistis is a conservative 1.5-hour drive. It is our strong recommendation that rental car or taxi arrangements are made prior to your arrival. We are happy to assist in any way and gave also provided some of our recommended agencies.
By Ferry
If you choose to travel to or from the island by ship, there are daily departures and arrivals at the two main ports of Evdillos and Agios Kirykos. Evdillos is closest to Armenistis –25-minute drive. We have provided links to the various ferries servicing the island.
Other islands guests can easily add to your itinerary to Ikaria are Mykonos, Samos and Patmos. The island of Mykonos is only a 2-hour ferry ride in to Evdillos port and Samos is roughly 1-hour. You can also take a 1-hour boat ride to from the port of Agios Kirykos to the island Patmos for a day trip or weekend stay.
Private sailboats and motorboats can be serviced by the Port Authority into Evdillos, Agios Kirykos or some of the smaller ports.

It is our strong recommendation that rental car or taxi arrangements are made prior to your arrival. We are happy to assist in any way and have also provided some of our recommended agencies.
For traveling around the island, it is best to use your own vehicle safely or rent a car or motorcycle. Taxis must be booked in advance and there are no bus services.
Although it is not the recommendation of Selene, you will see many younger visitors to Ikaria hitchhiking as the locals have an old practice stopping for island guests.
